Pulwama takes lead in the implementation of NRHM.

The Implementation of national Rural health Mission (NRHM) in the district was reviewed at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Pulwama Mr.Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo .The meeting was among others attended by Addl. DDC Mr. Sajad Ahmad Khan senior Health functionaries of the district and other district officers. The meeting was told that Pulwama has taken lead in the implementation of the mission. 724 ASHA’s were selected under the programme and 275 ASHA’s were provided training of their basic job while as training programme for rest is going on.

32 Rogi kalian Samiti’s were formed through out the district while as Daya training was also imparted.

The meeting was further informed that under “janani Surakhsha Yojna” 369 institutional deliveries were conducted under which Rs.700/- are being paid to the woman who gives birth to baby and Rs.600/- to the person (usually ASHA, ANM) who bring delivery case to the health centre.2 blood banks were also constructed under the scheme at shopian and pampore  while as 4 new born care units were established.7 RCH camps  and a good number of out reach session were conducted in the district. The meeting was further informed that untied funds @ Rs.10,000  ten thousand only each were provided to 124  centres.

 Speaking on the occasion the District Development Commissioner , Pulwama called upon health functionaries to work with dedication and zeal and provide best possible health care facilities to the people. He called for coordinated efforts for making national rural health mission a success.

Rs.2784.27 lacs incurred under District Plan during first

 7 months in Pulwama

Against the actual availability of Rs.5489.73 lacs ,the expenditure to the tune of Rs.2784.27 lacs which stands for about 51 % was incurred under district plan up to ending October 2006 in district Pulwama on various welfare and developmental programmes. 

This was disclosed in a meeting of district officers called to review the achievements made so far under district plan under various sectors chaired by District Development Commissioner , Pulwama Mr.Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo in chair. The meeting was among others attended by Chief planning officer Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and district/sectoral officers.The meeting was informed that under agriculture and allied services Rs.423.80 lac were  incurred up to ending October 2006,which include RS.61.54 lac under agriculture,Rs.126.04 lac under T&V,Rs.55.99 lac under Horticulture,Rs.59.40 under animal husbandry and Rs.68.49 lac under minor irrigation. It was further disclosed in the meeting that under Rural development sector expenditure to the tune of Rs.242.60 lac was incurred up to ending October 2006 which include Rs.221.21 lac under CD &Panchayats,Rs.14.23 lac under  G&B and Rs.7.16 lac under JRY. It was further given in the meeting that Rs.99.78 lac was incurred under Industries sector in the district during the current fiscal upto ending October 2006 ,which include Rs.25.10 lac under handicrafts,Rs.48.13 lac under DIC and Rs.13.24 lac under sericulture.Under communication sector Rs.540.54 lac was incurred under communication during the same period.Similarly under social and general services Rs.1444.19 lac was incurred up to ending October which include Rs.578.02 lac under education,Rs.552.13 lac under health sector,Rs.83.33 lac under self employment and Rs.210.48 lac under PHE.

Speaking on the occasion the District Development Commissioner, Pulwama impressed upon officers to redouble their efforts to achieve the targets well in time .

Govt. committed for the development of all areas.

The coalition govt.is committed to development of all areas  particularly rural areas and various schemes have been launched in this respect by the govt.The good governance, corruption free society  and a good work culture is the slogan of the chief minister and all of us have to take this slogan forward for the over all development of our state.

This was stated by Minister for rural development and Panchayat Raj Mr.Jugal kishore while taking the review meeting of Rural Development sector in District Pulwama . Minister of state for Rural development  Mr.Javeed Mustafa Mir, , MLA Shopian Mr.Gh.Hassan Khan , Secretary Rural Development Mr. Mohammad syed,District Development Commissioner , Pulwama Mr.Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, Director Rural Development Mr.Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari, Director  Rural sanitation Mr.Shabir Khan, ADDC, CPO, BDO’s of the district, APD DRDA and other district officers were present in the meeting.The meeting was informed that  work on six model villages in the district is in full swing which are coming up with a cost of Rs.1.20 crore each and facilities like children park, play ground, common facility centre, Rural information centre, up gradation of lanes and drains ,passenger sheds ,interior link roads, solar lights, shopping complex etc.made being created in these model villages. Against the released amount of Rs.1.80 crores ,Rs87.16 lacs stand utilized  so for under this scheme.. 

Under total sanitation campaign Rs. 4.41 crores are being spent in the district to provide toilet facilities to common people.8836 individual toilet points,184 school toilet points 27 women sanitary complexes and 3 anaganwari toilet points have so for been constructed. Under SGRY Rs.377.18 lacs is the out lay for the year 2006-07 . 954 works have been approved under SGRY and 286 have so far been taken up for execution and 104 stand completed with an expenditure of Rs.31.98 lacs generating 16000 man day’s. Under IAY RS.191.35 lacs is the out lay for the year 2006-07 under which 1303 houses which include new construction of 851 houses and up gradation of 452 houses will be taken .634(465 construction & 169 up gradation)have so for taken with expenditure of Rs. 74.63 lacs . Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that we should be committed for the development of the state and each one of us should contribute his part in this noble cause.He further said that to good governance is our main objective and we should work towards  making our society corruption free.He said that  a good work culture will faster the development process and help in mitigating the problems of common people. Speaking on the occasion the Minister of state stressed upon the officers of the Rural development to expedite the work on all the schemes and on going works and complete them within the targeted time .In this way, he said the society will be benefited and community assets will be created .He called for creating awareness among common people about various schemes launched by the govt.for their welfare.

MLA Shopian and District Development Commissioner, Pulwama also addressed the meeting.

PLP for Pulwama for 2007-08 to be of the order of Rs. 9781.59 lacs

The meeting to discuss and finalize the potential linked Plan (PLP) 2007-08 which becomes basis for District credit action plan was held here with District Development Commissioner, Pulwama Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo in chair .The meeting Discussed was among others attended by ADDC,Pulwama Mr.Sajad Ahmad Khan, CPO, Representative From NABARD, bankers of the District and Sectoral officers.

The representative of NABARD presented the Potential Linked plan projections For the year 2007-08,on various aspects of which threadbare discussion was held. The meeting was informed that the PLP for the district for the year 2007-08 will be of the order of Rs.9781.59 lacs which have been formulated on projections on the basis of field survey and taking into consideration the potential of various sectors. The meeting was further told that financial projection under agriculture and allied activities will be of the order of Rs.4598.20 lacs ,while as financial projections under non-farm sector has been kept to the tune of Rs.1073.00 lacs. Similarly the target under agro and food processing sector has been kept of the order of Rs.566.10 lacs and Rs.3544.29 lacs has been kept as financial projection under other priority sector. Under Agriculture and allied activities Rs.2593.30 lacs have been kept under crop loans,Rs.47.34 lacs under minor irrigations, Rs.1126.57 lacs under plantation and horticulture and Rs.136.40 lacs under Dairy development.Rs.97.72 lacs have been kept under poultry development and Rs.252.22 lacs under sheep/goat/piggery development.

 The meeting discussed deeply each sector and adopted the potential linked plan (PLP) for the year 2007-08.

Speaking on the occasion the District Development Commissioner , Pulwama stressed upon officers to work with dedication to help the common masses in mitigating their problems and providing all the possible assistance to unemployed youth in setting up their income generating  units.

Cocoon production on increase in Pulwama

The cocoon production in Pulwama is showing an increasing trend, which is evident from the fact that increase of 6500 kgs of cocoon was registered this year. The cocoon production reached to36695 kgs this year resulting in income of Rs.35lacs to 754 planters, which is Rs.15lacs more than the last year.

This information was given in a review meeting of industries sector held under the chairmanship  of District Development Commissioner , Pulwama Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo and was attended by Additional District Development commissioner Mr. Sajad Ahmad khan, CPO and officers of Industries, sericulture and employment departments. The meeting was informed that during first six months of current financial year 14146 Mulberry plantations were carried which include 53800 field plantations on 597 kanals and 28500 departmental plantations on 316 kanals. Reviewing the achievements of Employment department the meeting was told that under state self employment scheme 97 income generating units were sanctioned .Rs.73 lacs was provided as margin money and interest subsidy to unit holders. Under DIC ,it was given that 81 industrial units were cleared by the District level single window clearance committee so far with an estimated capital investment of Rs.47.40 crores. These units are proposed to generate employment for 2363 persons and the anticipated production capacity   is valued at Rs.250.55 crores. The meeting was further told that under Industries sector Rs.189.28 lacs are being spent during current financial year. This includes Rs.53.47 lac under handicrafts, Rs.24.49 lacs Under handlooms, Rs.82.29 lacs under DIC and Rs.24.87 lac under sericulture.  

Speaking on the occasion the DDC stressed upon officers to bring further improvement in their work and in respect of achieving the targets.

 District Advisory committee on youth programmes meets.

The meeting of District advisory committee on youth programmes was held here with District Development commissioner Pulwama Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo in chair.The meeting was among others attended by District youth coordinator Nehru yuva Kendra Mr. M. K. Mir, CPO, CMO, GM DIC, Lead bank officer Pulwama, Chairman Hyder youth club Mr. Ajaz, stag youth club Meshwara Mr. Wasim Shah, District Information Officer Mohammad Ashraf Hakak & District Informatics Officer , Pulwama Basharat Shafi.

 The meeting approved the agenda for the 2006-07.The meeting was told that during the current year an amount of Rs.3,75,752  have been earmarked for organizing 63 regular programmes.The over all goal of the organization for the year has been adopted as “youth empowerment and strengthening the youth club movement. The meeting was told that  the thrust areas on which the organization will focus main attention will be voluntary blood donation ,Compaign use of  polythene bags,health awareness about immunization,life skill education,green village and clean village,water management,promotion of non-conventional enery sources,scientific temper,problem of primary school drop-outs and drug and AIDS awareness. The meeting also had threadbare discussion on issues like creating awareness among people regarding various programmes,selection of youth club for award, close coordination of Nehru yuva Kendra with various district offices,etc. A committee was formed comprising of CMO, GM DIC,and distt youth services and sports officer for selection of youth club for best district youth club. The meeting was also informed that the main objective of the NYK is to involve rural youth in nation building and to develop their their values and skills so that they become productive,responsible citizens of modern India. Speaking on the occasion  the DDC impressed upon district officers to provide every possible support to Nehru yuva Kendra  so that they work in the field smoothly.He said that youth is the strong group which can give a new shape to the development and can change the shape of the society.

The committee on delineation of newly created District meets. 

The members of the commission constituted for delineation of newly created districts  Mr.Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie,Mr.Mushtaq Afzal and Mr.G.A.shahbaz today took a meeting with district administration Pulwama to discuss the various aspects regarding the prospective Hill district Shopian.

                  District Development commissioner Pulwama Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo through  power point presentation gave detailed information regarding present geographical area of the district Pulwama out of which Hill district shopian is to be carved out. The tehsil wise detail of the villages of the district, Block wise detail , Areas to be included in the prospective Hill district Shopian , Historical back ground of the Shopian , Racial identities , present available infrastructure at Shopian , infrastructure requirement with financial implications , interim measures for operating district head quarter and main power requirement was presented through the computer presentation  It was given in the meeting that presently the Shopian Tehsil comprises of  five Naibats , Six Girdawar circles , 43 Patwari Halqas and 231 villages with a population of 228080 and area of 76854 acres  . The Tehsil of Shopian is surrounded by district of Rajouri and Poonch .

                           The meeting also discussed the matters like areas to  be included in the prospective Hill district, representations of various areas for creation of  Tehsil , representations for inclusion with one and other district etc.

                           Speaking on the occasion the members of the commission gave stress to prepare maps both village wise and road connectivity wise and preparing list of villages showing to which block, Tehsil and police station they belong . They appreciated the district administration for presentation of minute report regarding the subject and doing deep work for preparing details regarding the prospective hill district.
