DDC Pulwama reviews national saffron mission
Pulwama 19 Nov 2019: In order to review the sprinkle irrigation system component of national Saffron Mission (NMS) District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer Today convened a meeting of officers of the concerned departments here at DC office Complex Pulwama.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on the progress made under the scheme. It was informed that against the target of completion of 109 bore wells , 100 wells are ready ,3 wells are under construction, 6 wells are expected to completed in next year and 15 wells are functional as on date .
Speaking on the occasion, DDC directed MED officials to ensure completion of pending wells and timeline for same was devised. He said total of 109 wells along with its accessories is to be laid out in saffron belts of Pampore to irrigate the lands to enhance the production. He also took serious note of conversion of saffron land and directed concerned officers to spurt their efforts to curb the encroachment on said fields .He directed Revenue, Agriculture and MED officials devise a plan for monitor the situation on ground level and submit report in this regard to the administration.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Chief Agriculture officer, MED officials and other concerned.
