Greviance Redressal Camp witnessed overwhelming response at Awantipora.

Scores of delegations get on spot redressal of greviances related to irrigation.

Pulwama 19 August : The greviance redressal camp today held at Awantipora witnessed an overwhelming public response as hundreds of people put their grievances before the District Development Commissioner Dr . Raghav Langer who was chairing the camp .The camp was conducted in view of the emerging drought like conditions due to scanty rainfall in certain areas of the district .
The camp witnessed the presence of delegations of farmers , Civil society members from all across the district .
District Development commissner Pulwama gave patient hearing to all the delegations and resolved the pending demands on spot besides setting timelines for the schemes in progress.
While speaking on the occasion , DDC said that the farming committee forms the base of the economy of district and exorted upon the officers to ensure their accessibility for the community . He further added that the issues related to cleaning of irrigation canals and choking of khols should be expedited so that drought mitigation process is fastened .

The camp was attended by all the officers of the line departments including mechanical irrigation division , Irrigation and flood control , irrigation construction division ,Jal Shakti etc.
Besides ADC Pulwama ,Tral , Awantipora all Tehsildars and BDOs remained present at the camp chaired by DDC.
The camp was organised with the backdrop of receding water level in the river Jhelum and other Nallahs besides the influx of scores of complaints being received on daily basis regarding the Irrigation Schemes and non functioning of lift irrigation pumps.
