Workshop of DLCC under National Tabacco Control Programme Held In Pulwama.

Pulwama 22 November 2019: Meeting cum workshop of District Level Coordination Committee Pulwama under National Tobacco Control Programme was  today  held at DC office complex Pulwama

The  Programme was organized by Tabacco Control Cell Govt of J&K  Incollobration with International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease for stakeholders from all concerned departments, Public Health institutions and civil society organizations with an aim to highlight the role and responsibilities of various departments on Tobacco control.

 District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer Was the chief Guest on the Occasion.

 During the workshop various  resource persons deliberated upon the various issues related to the Tobacco Consumption and its effects on the human health and society.

 While addressing among the participants  DDC directed  the concerned departments to disseminate the appropriate  information to the Public through intense IEC campaigns  about hazards  of the tobacco and its control .  He stressed upon the participants to play a proactive role in making the district Tobacco free. He directed for making all GOVT premises “Tobacco free Zone “ in the district as per the advisory  issued by Ministry of  Health and family welfare GOI. He enjoined upon all stakeholders make proper liason with District Tobacco Control Cell for tobacco control activities to be carried out in the District.

The workshop was attended  by ADC Pulwama,Tral ,Awantipora ,Joint Director Planning,Chief Medical Officer and all concerned officers and officials .
